The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s annual fundraising event, and the staff of Dawn Ellmore Employment got together to share coffee and cake, whilst raising money to help Macmillan fulfil their aim of making sure that no one has to face cancer alone. Macmillan provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support, and – because cancer affects more than just those facing it – support for friends and family too. Donations also contribute to campaigning for better cancer care, making this a very worthy cause.
The team was unable to choose its favourite this year, and so Georgia Pearse and Kevin Bartle shared this year’s “Best Baker” award for their Lemon Drizzle Cake and Millionaire’s Shortbread treats. Congratulations also go to Daniel Airey, whose cherry landed closest to the top of the cake in a keenly fought, cake themed edition of the old favourite “pin the tail on the donkey”, and
Luke Rehbein who guessed closest to the length of a giant veggie roll!
