The CIPA CITMA Cricket Club’s cricket evening took place on Tuesday 10th July – and as the club’s main shirt sponsors Dawn Ellmore Employment were in attendance to join in the festivities.
Kevin Bartle, Associate Director, expected a nice relaxing summer’s evening watching a bit of cricket under the looming presence of Alexandra Palace, but what started out as “there will plenty of spare kit for you to get involved if you want to” turned into “there’s the bag for you to get kitted up” when it looked like the numbers were going to be a bit short for an 11 v 11 game.
Kevin only lasted two balls before being clean bowled but fared slightly better in the field, bowling two overs that weren’t disgraceful (which is the best he could have hoped for!). He retired to the clubhouse for tea and drinks thinking “well that’s harder than it looks”.
The club members are a friendly and inclusive bunch, and very welcoming, so if you think you might like to get involved please do contact us and we will put you in touch.
